// WAH WAH - SOUNDSATIONS //
23 September 2017 - Kopi 372, Jl. Ir. H. Juanda no 372, Bandung, Indonesia.
Crew doing the soundcheck.
The sun was shining brightly as I decided to move over from my room to Kopi 372 in Bandung. I was supposed to help a couple of friends documenting a music thing- as they are the organiser, making videos and taking pictures as usual. The event starts at 5 PM but I arrived at 1PM, where the bands are just starting to set up their music instruments and doing soundcheck.
The Trees And The Wild's soundcheck.
Waiting patiently for the soundcheck.
Time goes unexpectedly fast, with everyone running around and trying to do things. People are starting to gather, putting on with the diffracted vision glasses that they were giving in for the show. Sun is going down steadily and soon it is time to start the show.
First up in the line is Munthe, opening the festival with jazzy electronic vibes.
Colours
Purple voices.
Second up in the line with their Alternative Rock / New Wave music, HEALS, getting people more and more excited.
Focused on the atmosphere.
Green and electric guitars.
Orange and drums.
Red and bass.
Buttons and tunes.
As the night gets more and more heated up, it is time for the folk sounds of Rusa Militan. Kopi 372 is getting more and more packed by this time, people are coming in for the evening. The shouts of names are echoing in the night as orders are being delivered to people.
Lead singer of Rusa Militan.
Fiercely singing.
Calm and cold.
It is finally time for the main attraction, who people have been waiting for, to play on the stage. The Trees And The Wild closes the night with their hauntingly beautiful sounds.
Haunting voices as The Trees And The Wild is playing.
Blue and drums.
By the end of the night, I was running out of both battery and memory. My camera gave up in the middle of the performance, unfortunately (or fortunately, as I got to watch them properly). People are moving their heads in time with the beat as The Trees And The Wild played through the evening.
(A little video I did for fun just to show how it was. I haven't been messing about too much with videos, I still have a lot to learn!)
A self portrait.
